Ward Looking Forward To 2009 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour

March 16, 2009

2008 was a long and frustrating year for Brandon Ward, at the first of the year he was mentally prepared and set to make a run at the Hooters Pro Cup Championship just one year after being named Rookie of the Year and series most popular driver.

Just after a hand full of races Ward was told that funding would not allow the team to go any further, so without a ride he set out with the help of family and friends, as well as long time sponsors Rayco Safety, Inc and Old Town Jewelry & Pawn to purchase his own Nascar southern modified car and start his own team, a tall feet with little funds and little time.

With a hand full of races in 2008 under his belt and hard work over the winter, both crew and driver are set to tackle the Southern Modified Series along with hopes of capturing the Rookie of the Year Honors.

Helping BWR accomplish what they are setting out to do is long time series sponsor and supporter Mike Norman of DMC Auto Exchange. Brandon Ward says that having someone like Mike Norman and DMC Auto Exchange on board really means a lot.

They want to run up front and DMC has the same goals and work ethics that we carry here at BWR on and off the track. Ward also added that horse power would not be an issue when the #93 DMC Auto exchange Chevy rolls onto the track with David Pinnix engines under the hood.

That will be one worry that will never cross his mind. With rain canceling the first race at Caraway, this allowed Ward and the BWR crew to work that much harder and be that much more prepared when they roll into Concord Motorsports Park on Saturday March 21 .
